Internal square-wave generator eliminates the need for an external function generator.

Up to 200 V peak-to-peak square wave output.

Ultra-fast  (< 100 ns) square wave transition optimized for high-speed LC devices.

Up to 4 independent channels.

Rather than simply amplifying a low voltage square wave,
the LC-100 utilizes fast FET switching electronics to provide
a very high quality square wave over the entire voltage range,
even when driving capacitive loads that are typical of LC
devices.  Furthermore, the ultra-fast square-wave transitions
provided by the LC-100 minimizes unwanted transients due
to LC surface-mode effects.

LC-Device Protection:

The square-wave frequency for each channel may be individually adjusted with either a front panel trimpot or an external clock input which may be used to adjust the frequency “on-the-fly”, such as required for dual-frequency LC devices.

Accidental Short Protection:

The LC-100 is designed to help you realize the most performance from your LC devices while simultaneously protecting your devices from long term damage.   Specifically, the output voltages are trimmed to minimize DC offsets, thereby protecting against ion induced degradation.  Furthermore, protection circuitry also prevents the user from accidentally applying a DC voltage, which can also result in device damage.

Multiple Channels:

Automatic over-current detection circuitry protects against accidental shorts or other potential electrical damage.  This protects both the LC-100 and your experiment.

The LC-100 high voltage LC driver was designed by LC-device engineers specifically for the unique requirements of liquid-crystal devices.  Up to four individually controlled channels provide a DC-balanced  square wave that is continuously adjustable
from 0-100 Vrms. The amplitude of the square-wave output
on  each channel may be controlled either with a front panel
knob or with a user supplied DC voltage.
